While strictly speaking, ClearSpan Server and its embeddable version, Edge4 are not development environments, many BridgeForward customers have used our application integration products to develop unique solutions. Perhaps the most demonstrative example of such use is by NHS Scotland, the government organization responsible for the management of more than 200 hospitals and 1,000 doctor’s (GP) offices. Using ClearSpan Server as the underlying connectivity layer, NHS Scotland has developed is own customized Results Reporting solution. Called SCI-Store (pronounced “sky-store”), the solution provides laboratory results to all 207 public hospitals and all 1,000 doctor’s offices as well as a number of clinics throughout Scotland. ClearSpan Server essentially serves as SCI-Store’s connectivity “spine” and supports upwards of 10,000 users per day.
